Red is the most eye-catching and alerting color. Netflix, McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, CNN, and notification bubbles that are displayed on top of each app on your phone are red too. Not only does
red scream for attention, but it is also the color of love, passion, and energy. Now even though the bedroom is a place for love, I don’t think you would want red walls in there. Red can increase energy levels in your room causing you to remain alert. The romance of red can be reserved for roses, dresses, and lipstick. But if you wish to include a splash of red somewhere in your decor or furniture, couch cushions are great for this. A red throw can stand out on a neutral colored sofa as well. If you want a showpiece in your living room, a darker shaded red couch or rug would be perfect. Just be conscious of how it ties in with the color of your walls. Finally, a red main door is always a stand out entrance into designing a classic home

2. Orange and Yellow

Youth, Vitality, and Joy. The colors and feelings we get from the sun. Vibrant and lively, orange or yellow tones can be used for a children’s playroom or exercise area. A couch, side tables, or patio set with yellow tones make a statement. Dining table placemats, and hand towels work in orange as well. A beautiful pop in the washroom can be perfect to brighten it up. Think of towels, mats, and paintings to give it some life and vibrance. Sunflowers, yellow roses, curtains, some kitchenware, and mugs look good in yellow too

4. Green is Great

Do I even need to mention the most wonderful ways to utilise this color? Plants and nature of course! Green evokes great feelings of peace and health. That’s why you’ll see pharmacies and health stores use this color. Tranquility and healing, light shades of green can be perfect for rooms that you want to create more energy in. A children’s study area is ideal for this. Shades of green will be peaceful yet give off accents of life, an armchair would be great at achieving this. Succulents, aloe vera, and most indoor plants are a perfect way to scatter greens around the home. Your fridge should be stacked with this color for a healthier lifestyle too 😉

5. Business Blue

Confidence, knowledge, and trust. Technology and insurance companies utilise this color for that exact reason. Blue works well in an office space, study room, or as little items around the washroom as well

6. Purple

Royalty. luxury, and sophistication. This is a tough one because purple can be seen as a bit fancy or pretentious to splash around the house. Especially when whites, and neutrals are what everyone feels best in. I personally don’t think there is much “room” for purple in any room. However if you are a fan of it, a cushioned stool, clock, or even chest of drawers could work in deeper purples. Violets and lavender flowers in the living room are a more subtle way to introduce purple in your home

7. The Neutrals

Well, white is the winner for most. A timeless staple, this color allows you to flaunt your skills with furniture and household items. Perfect to make the more colorful items stand out, while providing a backdrop to each room. Rooms tend to look more spacious and full of pleasant energy in white, which also reflects light to make the room feel airy and bright. Beige, tan, and light browns are perfect for most areas as well. Achieving a neutral aesthetic with these tones will be warmer than white, and more serene, while still allowing other colors to pop. Neutral
colors are seen in most bedrooms and browns are a standard choice for bar areas and the “man cave”. It will make you feel like settling in while giving off a warm tone that can be relaxing. Neutral colors are also a go-to for furniture items and all in all, you can almost never go wrong with this calming color

8. The Boldness of Black

Black. Dare I say more? Sophistication, Confidence, Power, and Mystery. Mostly used in small doses, black is the strongest color to make a statement. Though it’s still debated if black even is a color or the lack of it. If you are bold enough to paint a whole room black then there’s really nothing much that should turn you away from doing so. Black walls can be used for art spaces or painting rooms. Even one of the four walls in a room painted black can act as a stand out surface to place a piece of art on, or just leave mysteriously bare. Black can be seen in a lot of modern concept designed homes, with some bedrooms and living rooms being fully blacked out. This is more of a personal taste and personally, I’m a big fan. Blackout curtains are popular, but this color in general is one that you’ll know exactly what to do with if you’re a fan of it. Each color for each feeling and personality, to fit each and every person. What colors do you wish to
define, and design your home with? Colors can paint an extension of who you are. So choose freely and as always, trust yourself and you’ll never go wrong.

on an individuals body type and areas of strain, the bedding that covers a mattress is where we can all

We’ll start with the first layer above the mattress; sheets. Now don’t be fooled by price here. A polyester & cotton
mix although highly available, you get what you pay for. Body temperatures typically remain as warm as a
summers day. Now stick that body on polyester and what do you get? Well you get a sheet that sticks back on
you. 100% cotton percale is not only affordable, but also cool and crisp. Cotton is king, especially for the
summer. It helps by distributing your body heat evenly throughout your rest period, so you dont wake up
feeling sticky or clammy. Percale sheets are woven one over, one under. Breathable and light, you’re bound to
sheets that will ensure a beautiful nights sleep. For comforters and duvet covers, cotton is recommended as well.

2. Thread Count

The more the merrier! Why wait till Christmas to be merry, let’s do it every night. Thread count refers
to the number of threads that criss cross per square inch of material. Once you get above 200 you’re in
the safe zone. 300-800, now we’re talking quality without breaking the bank. Hold your sheet or pillow
case up to a light. If you can see through the sheet fairly easily, that’s indicative of a low thread count.
Always look out for the thread count number when purchasing your sheets and duvet covers.

3. Pillows for a Peaceful Plunge

Neck problems. Another thing we can unite on. We spend a large portion of life laying our heads on a
pillow which could probably be a bit more comfortable. You just won’t know until you try them all. 8
hours a day for our entire life, rounds up to about a gazillion hours (roughly speaking of course). For
the many types of sleeping positions; back, side, stomach, or all combined, Like cheese in a burger, laid
between the meat and the bun, pillows rest between our head and the mattress. Pick yours wisely.

4. Accessories

Not necessary at all times, these are items that complement your bed, have the possibility of improving
your sleep, and can be used when you feel the need to. Throw pillows. though do take up bed space,
serve as a cuddle buddy for you side sleepers. Quilt coverlets, typically for decorative purposes, can be
used as an extra layer when the weather gets a little chilly. Lastly, pillow sprays. Aromatherapy to ease
your rest with calming scents that encourage a deeper slumber by producing sleep inducing hormones.
This is clinically proven as well.

1. Set The Mood with a Color Scheme and Theme 

Depending on the occasion, weather, and time, harmony can be achieved between you and your immediate environment. Think of a romantic dinner – the first thing that comes to mind; the color red, candles/roses, and dessert of course, but that’s for the bedroom ;). 

Think of a family lunch – what could contribute to happy or fun times that inspire great conversations? Light, fun colors to complement the setting. 

While for dinner – deeper, darker tones would set the right vibes to match the night sky. You can also never go wrong with an all white setting here.

Holidays of course, will have their own theme. But you don’t have to wait for Thanksgiving, or any holiday. to style your table and set the scene for your friends and family. 

2. It’s All About The Aesthetics 

Feed the eyes the way you feed the tummy. A centerpiece, which can consist of a set of candles, a vase, flowers that tie into your color scheme, or all of them combined. Preferably not too tall, you don’t want to block the view of the people across. A centerpiece could also be the main attraction in a stand out serving dish. Are you having comfort food or gourmet? Differentiate between the vibe of your setting. Classic white plates to make your colorful meal stand out. Or patterned/embroidered dinnerware to complement your food. 

3. Invite Nature In 

Fresh flowers, tree twigs, or nature scented candles are perfect to garner hints of the outdoors. A meal can sometimes go on longer than expected, especially if everyone is having a good time. Last but least, your personalized touch-ups and decor. These are lightweight items and can be saved for the end once the heavy items have been laid down.
